in may 2004 i received a call from video director philipp stölzl, who asked me if i could do some additional music for the next evanescence video “everybody’s fool”.
in the clip, singer amy lee performes in various fake tv-commercials.
for the “lies” pizza spot he wanted me to create some tacky background music in an fifties style, like “murder at the gallop” or “leave it to beaver”.
i did three versions for him, which unfortunately were all later rejected. i kinda like all three of them, they’re probably a little more charming than the music that was later used (which had its emphasis more on the “irony” aspect).
